Write Your Personal Statement
Write a Genuine College Application Statement that Stands Apart
Intro!
Having worked in college admissions, being an application reviewer, and working as college faculty, I have read many essays. I know what gets noticed and what falls to the bottom of the pile.
2024 college application season is here, so don’t waste your time with a template-driven essay mill. And yes, application reviewers can tell if your essay was written by an AI. So don’t fall to the bottom. Instead, learn how to do this right from the start.
A Better Approach
There is a better way to write that personal statement, so let me show you how. I have a proven method that will make admissions counselors and college faculty notice your essay. Let me explain.
With my method you will:
Make your essay different from all the others
Learn how to write your own story, not someone else’s (which is really the only thing you get from a template site)
Avoid rejection because the essay was AI-generated
Develop a process that you can use now, and adapt to future essays
My method is different because I help you discover your own story, a unique story that reflects who YOU are. It is unique to you and it will sound genuine to whoever reads it. That is what admissions counselors and faculty are looking for: authenticity. That is something that can’t be copied, replicated, or stolen by a machine for someone else to use after you.
More importantly, my method isn’t something static, something that doesn’t change. Just like your first draft won’t be your final essay, your story is an evolving one. When you write essays with my method, you learn to incorporate that growth and build it into the next essay. This way, your story remains unique long after this one essay… like you! You will need to write many more personal statements in your life, and you need a method that works today and into the future.
Your story is a reflection of you: your ideas, your history, your experiences, your accomplishments & triumphs over adversity. Learning to tell that story early on will help you incorporate your life into that storytelling process. You want everything you send out into the world to be a true reflection of you.
Using AI, or someone else’s words, sets you up for literally lying to an employer, school, or client. The sad part is that you are also lying to yourself because you don’t allow yourself to learn who you really are. You don’t ever want someone to say: “They sounded so good on paper… but now that I meet them, well, it doesn’t seem like the same person… what a disappointment.”
It is sometimes hard to admit that we human beings are inherently imperfect. This is also reflected in our writing. So, why not embrace that imperfection to show the world how beautifully unique you are? Show them how you will use this as evidence of your self-awareness and growth, but also how you will benefit them in ways no other candidate will.

Training Schedule & Price
I do not believe that a statement essay is something that can be written in one short session or at the last minute. Instead, I prefer to spread out the work over three weeks to allow for reflection. During those three weeks, we will assemble the essay together:
Training sessions will be online via Zoom.
I will be available for two sessions per week, of 40 minutes each.
Ideally, sessions will consist of 30 minutes of training and 10 minutes of writing review, where we go over what has been written. This isn’t set in stone, of course, and we can also have more time for Q&A, if you prefer.
After you sign up, I will send instructions on how to connect. I will also send a pre-training questionnaire for you to fill out so that we have a place to start from.
There will be writing assignments between sessions.
Time-permitting, I will respond to emails for one month after the training for any additional assistance with the essay.
You will need a reliable internet connection and the Zoom app needs to be installed on a computer. Using a cell phone will be difficult as I will be asking you to write on a keyboard during the sessions.
Training Schedule
I prefer to schedule sessions in the evening, after dinner-time, ideally. Alternatively, we can find a time slot during the day, if evening times are not convenient. Keep in mind that I also teach college classes during the day, so my day-time availability is limited.
Price
The cost for the 3-week training is $299.
I use Paypal for online payment processing. You don’t need a Paypal account to make the payment, you can simply use a credit card, if you prefer. I will send an invoice after your sign up.
I offer a full refund up until the day before the first class. If you wish to drop the class after starting, I also offer a partial refund of $100 after the first week, if you change your mind after starting. Please notify me by email before the second week, for the partial refund.
