The Other CfP: the Call for Participants

You’ve seen these on your social media feed – CfP, or Call for Papers. Well, there’s another CfP that is just as important to the professional development of scholars: the Call for Participants.

Part of academic life is conducting research. Even lecturers, or part-time faculty, sometimes get the opportunity to conduct research. This usually happens under the purview of a tenure-track faculty. For example, at my CSU I actually have an IRB-approved research project.

But since I am a lecturer, I work with a TT faculty as my co-P.I. This structure assures the university some continuity of the project if the lecturer leaves or is not rehired because of the changing needs of the department.

Below is just a sample from October of the Calls for Participants for research projects that have come across my social media feed. Some come with financial compensation, others don’t. This depends on the funding that the researcher has available.

Take a look and see if you can help out:

You can also pay it forward if you’ve ever needed participants for your own study in the past. When I am able, I forward such Calls for Participants through my social media in the hope of helping an emerging or established scholar complete their work.

If you’re a research geek like I am or have a project you have to finish to complete your academic studies, create an eye-catching flyer (JPG, PNG preferred) and pass it along to your academic tribe. We will help you get things done!
